"Snap-In" pocket for the Snap-In-One system, commonly known as SIO. It is designed to be used with wool diaper covers with 4 extra snaps inside of wrap to make a complete "all in one" nappy that can be put as easy as a disposable nappy. Simply stuff the pocket with any of your preferable insert or pad folded flat and attached to the cover with two snaps on front and two snaps on back of the cover. It is an improvement in diapering very active babies, simple and effective to use, it prevents the insert from moving around inside the woolen wrap.
The pocket will prove helpful:
- For those who often have to put a nappy on a running baby, too curious to stand still for half a minute on the changing table
- It is a convenient option when the baby is with someone who is not much familiar with cloth nappies, when stays with a babysitter, grandparents, or dads sometimes. You leave the complete nappy to your grandmother, who no longer has to wonder what is what and why ;)
Characteristics of the Snap-In pocket: - Universal - to stuff the pocket you can use any flat, insert, prefold or anything else you can fold into a rectangle, in an emergency case even a cotton top.
- Anatomical shape for comfort and effectiveness - widely spread at the back to wrap well the baby and keep the contents (poo) in place. Wider front.
- Soft elastics along the pocket and on the back to keep contents from leaking out. The pocket fits nicely to your baby's body thanks to the elastics and stops any leakage.
- The width of the tunnel at its narrowest point is approximately 11 cm but the elastic material will allow inserts of different widths and thicknesses. Length approx. 36 cm. The indicated width and length are for the pocket after shrinking.
- An entry at the front of the pocket.
- The stretchy and soft fabric will softly wrap your baby keeping him dry.
- Made from organic cotton - a safe, breathable and 100 percent natural absorbent fabric.
- The elastics used in the pockets are made of natural rubber.
- The new pocket is long but will shrink to the right size after a few washes (how quickly? - depends on the temperature of the wash and the way of drying).
- It fits babies from about 8 kg.
- Fits our OS, OS+ and M size wool diaper covers with SIO snaps inside. It can also fit other manufacturers' covers, where the distance between snaps is approx:
- back 22 cm
- front 15 cm
If the fastener spacing in your wrap is smaller, the pocket may not perform its function well.

In a nutshell, all cotton is airy, hygroscopic, anti-allergenic and natural, but....
Organic cotton, like regular industrial cotton, is a plant-based raw material, but the way they are grown and the differences in their processing make them really different.
Organic cotton comes from crops that are not treated with toxic chemicals. Organic fertilisers are used instead of chemical ones and chemical pesticides. The plant is not protected by chemicals, so it has to develop its own defence mechanisms, which makes it a sustainable raw material and ensures that the products made from it retain their shape and appearance for a long time.
No chemicals are used to produce a cotton fabric, as is the case with some other naturally sourced materials. The white cotton balls are picked from the cotton plants, cleaned of their leaves and seeds by hand or mechanically, and then combed, pressed and twisted. This is how the yarn is created, which is then knitted or woven into airy cotton fabrics.
It is worth remembering that organic cotton is highly hygroscopic - it will absorb 24 to 27 times its weight in water! And interestingly, wet organic cotton is very durable, so frequent and harsh washing will not harm it easily!
GOTS-certified organic cotton is pure, chemical-free, healthy and safe for the youngest children, perfect for sensitive skin and ideal for allergy sufferers prone to atopic dermatitis.
On organic cotton plantations, controls are applied to respect workers' rights.
***
Due to its high content of natural oils, organic cotton nappies reach maximum absorbency later than normal industrial cotton, and may need up to 7-8 washes to reach full absorbency.
The nappy can be washed at 60° with white washing powder.
If you wash with Nappi Fresh or other sanitiser, washing at 40° is sufficient. In this way you will provide your baby with clean, hygienic nappies.
The product label says to wash at 40 degrees and dry gently in the tumble dryer. These are the manufacturer's of cotton fabric recommendations for the material which the nappy has been made of. However, our tests have shown that the fabric performs very well after washing at 60 degrees as well as drying at a high temperature. Anyway, it is worth to bear in mind that excessive use of this can wear out the nappy more quickly.
Tumble drying allowed at any temperature however, gentle drying and even more so traditional drying (sun, standing dryer) will certainly prolong its life.
